I like The Jam - and I love the bass playing of Bruce Foxton.
Bruce was crucial to the overall sound of this great three-piece band, his bass provides both a solid backbone and a wide range melodic addition.
I have seen Bruce Foxton play recently in a band called the Casbah Club and he was quite brilliant. Great timing, punchy playing and flashes of brilliance here & there.
Paul Weller stole most of the limelight as the singer and song-writer, but Bruce was the understated genius of the band.
Do you realise?........this world is totally FUGAZI.
Yeah cracking Bass Player but i must confess i do like Paul Wellers later song writing style, not the crap he did with the style council but his later solo stuff like Wild Wood and that.
I think any tensions between Weller and Foxton have thawed in the last year or so. The Jam were one of the first bands that really did it for me, I even had a Paul Weller haircut B)
I wouldn't be surprised if the Jam did a Pink Floyd style, one off reunion in the next few years.

I was never a huge fan of The Jam but the more time goes on the more i seem to like them and love the stuff they did. Also if they do a Pink Floyd esc reunion i think i would have to go.
