Ok as Nic is the cultured one in the band (and i don't mean he needs a wash) He mentioned something about CATS the musical. I am not talking about CATS in general i am refering to musicals as a whole.
I in my college days I was in a couple and worked behind the scenes on a few here and there. I also did a couple of years stint in an opera company, but we don't talk about that...
A play is A play A song is a song but when you try to sing a play it all goes so wrong grease, chitty chitty bang bang, cats, Annie, Mary Poppins all good plays that are spoiled by people bursting into song and as for the sound of music AHHHHhhhhhhhhhhh, but in saying that there are some good songs that have come out of musicals.
But there again theres opera and ballet and in my opinion thats where singing and dancing a play should stay
Dobby is actually an elf that is 'banned' from gigs!
I went ot the West End to see Starlight Express back in the day and really enjoyed it. To be honest it's the only one I've seen live, but I've seen CATS, Grease and The Lion King on DVD and really enjoyed them too. I wouldn't say all musicals are good, but for the most part, if it's a big production you can be pretty sure you're in for a good show.
My mum took me to a musical when I was about 6 and of course I hated it. But Bagpuss has been nagging me to go to one for ages now, and I am assured that Cats is a superb production so I am genuinely looking forward to it.
I bet we have all secretly watched Rocky Horror and totally loved it.
Do you realise?........this world is totally FUGAZI.
