I personally love evanescence, dunno y but i cant stop listenin 2 them lately ... /me agrees wiv my immortal being a classic! its my fav song off the album by far!

Evanescence in my opinion can write some great but utterly depressing lyrics, and Amy Lee has a very talented voice.
My Immortal is far from their best piece tho. You should check out Field Of Innocence or Listen To The Rain from Le Nouveau Gothique (their unofficial greatest hits album compile by their fans and released under their usual label) or Missing from the Anywhere But Home album. Missing is one of those songs that I will never get tired of.
Evanescence the name is enough for me, sounds like some cheapo room fragrance you get from wilko's for a quid!
I personally think she's got a great voice, but that's where my love for there music end's "come back when your sober, yeh right as if any bloke is going to do that when he's allowed out for his once a year knee's up!"
Where has proper gothic music gone? bring back Sisters of Mercy, Jesus and the mary chain, The Mission, All about Eve, The Damned and my personnal favorite goth metal band Type O Negative if you want depressing that's the band. They will tip you well and truly over the edge if your an insane basket case of an individual.
