Brian Moore - ex England & British Lions rugby union hooker wrote a great article in the Sun this week about Chelsea and footballers in general.
He commented on the obvious play-acting when tackled for example. The amount of pretend injuries is getting out of hand - indeed it was suggested that pretending to be injured just to get a penalty or free kick is, or should be, a punishable offence in itself.
A little tap and your big girl of a striker is rolling around on his back crying like a baby.
In rugby, the players spend 80 minutes getting seriously hurt but pretending not to be hurt at all. Soccer players spend 90 minutes petending to get hurt but never actually getting the slightest bruise.
Do you realise?........this world is totally FUGAZI.
I would have to agree with you mate, both games have skill and balance, but i think footy requires more, where rugby requires a hard body and power. Just for the record footballers do get very seriously injured sometimes.
What i dont get about rugby, is why the players stomp all over each other to get to the ball, that is stupidly dangerous in my book.
