WageR History and Biographies.

Wayne            Alan            Dave            Mick            Emmerson

Mick Duncombe (Bass Guitar & Backing Vocals).

Mick was born in Wolverhampton around the time of the Magna Carta and was educated at the towns Grammar School. His father was a semi-pro keyboard player and sent Mick to piano lessons at an early age. Mick quickly got bored of the piano and bought himself a cheap acoustic guitar/ lute and started to learn a few chords. Meanwhile making a living from selling Lamb flavoured candy floss at the town market, whilst holding down a Hand Cart Wash at weekends in the local Square.

It wasn’t until Mick was 21 that he started playing seriously. This was due to him seeing a girl, who was a singer in a local band. They needed a bass player and asked Mick to give it a go. Three weeks later, armed with his first bass, Mick was playing his first gig.

Mick quickly became hooked on the bass guitar and played with ‘Griffin’ for a couple of years. Mick was then asked to stand in with ‘The Red eyes blues band’ who were starting a blues club at one of his local pubs. Mick loved blues music and played with the band for several years.

In 1998 Mick and a few friends formed a band for a one off charity event and ‘The Scruffy Reddogs’ were born. The band was so successful that it carried on, for 9 yrs! Also, during these nine years Mick also played in a band with his two daughters called ‘Peppermint Monkey’ until they could find a permanent bass player, more their own age lol.

Mick has been playing the Bass ever since and has now taken his vow's to join the sacred institute that is known as WageR (even though gambling is against his religion).
